Annuals

Annuals are plants that can complete their lifecycle within one year. Most consider annuals to be any bedding plant that will not survive the winter or in the case of winter annuals will not survive the summer.  The most desirable characteristic of annuals are they typically grow rapidly to fill  in a planting bed and can flower the entire season.

Perennials

Perennials are plants that restart their life cycle each year. Most consider perennials to be any plant that will survive the winter and summer (generally going dormant during the winter). For Dallas Fort Worth metroplex, these are plants that can survive the zone 8 climate. Read more about plant zones here.

Ground Covers

Ground cover plants consist of low-growing flowers and greenery that sprawl, or crawl, across the ground. Many are low-maintenance enough to even walk on, which means you won’t have to worry about occasionally dragging your hose across the blooms, or be constantly wary of wandering children stepping off your footpaths.

Grasses

Our ornamental grasses are sold by the gallon and make a beautiful filler for clients, both in ground and as main statement pieces in planters. Once established, ornamental grasses have few needs and create a major impact.

Shrubs

Shrubs could be described as woody perennials (returns every year). Providing interest in the landscape with leaves, and/or flowers. Our shrubs are all from the Proven Winners collection. Every shrub has been filled tested and has “proven” to be a “winner” in your landscapes.

Succulents

Succulents are plants that have adapted to areas of very little rainfall or moisture. They accomplish this by storing water in fleshy and thickened stems or leaves. They come in a variety of shapes, colors and sizes and will thrive indoors or outdoors.

Tropicals

Like the name suggest these plants are adapted to tropical environments (zone 10) where temperatures rarely drop below 50°F. They can be flowering or foliage. The Alocasias we offer for the spring would be considered tropical foliage and help provide a tropical look around the landscape or backyard patios and pools. In the fall we offer crotons, which have the same tropical look with fall colors.
